National Aluminum Company Expanding project goes along on schedule

According to the Chief Executive Officer of National Aluminum Company (Nalco) CR Pradhan, the second phase expansion project is on schedule and expected to be completed as scheduled.
In an interview, he said the company in October 2004 has proceeded with the second phase expansion. The project is estimated to cost 409 billion rupees. It will use four years and two months to complete the expansion. He said, "We guarantee that the project would be completed on schedule”.
"Once completed, its production capacity will increase from the existing 4.8 million tons/year to 6.3 million tons/year, among of which the alumina output will increase from 1.575 million tons to 2.1 million tons, and aluminum output will increase from the current 345,000 tons to 460,000 tons. The production capacity of Phase II power plant will increase from 960 MW to 1200 MW.
Pradhan said the net profit of last financial year is 15.6 billion rupees, and is expected to reach 20 billion rupees, while the sales income is expected to reach almost 60 billion rupees.
He said the company has announced its dividend for the period 2006-2007 was 322.15 rupees. The company purchased the exploitation right of a mining company last year to exploit bauxite resources in Visakhapatnam district. He said, "if gaining mine lease, we plan to build a smelting plant.
