China's Alumina Output Surges 48.7 Pct in Jan-Nov

China's alumina output reached 17.722 million tons in the first 11 months of 2007, surging 48.7 per cent year-on-year, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

Output of electrolytic aluminium topped 11.16 million tons in the first 11 months, up 34.6 per cent year-on-year.

Total output of alumina and electrolytic aluminium is expected to reach 21.50 million tons and 12.40 million ton in 2007 respectively.

The production capacity of electrolytic aluminum is estimated to increase by 3.50 million tons to reach 15.50 million tons in 2007, and that of alumina to increase by nine million tons to reach 27.80 million tons.
